Networked, Scaled, and Agile – Can your company really be all three?

Thursday, June 10th, 2021 at 9:00 am Eastern Time

The business landscape may have changed radically over the past year, but the challenges of organizing people to collaborate across company, culture, language, and location boundaries persist. Kates Kesler’s new book, “Networked, Scaled, and Agile: A Design Strategy for Complex Organizations,” offers frameworks and tools for managing the tensions inherent in every organization today. All companies have to focus on maintaining speed while they grow. Through a conversation with Borge Obel, Amy Kates will share insights from the book and take questions from participants.

Introduction to the Speakers

Amy Kates is a founder of Kates Kesler Organization Consulting, which was acquired by Accenture in June 2020. Amy is the author of five books on organization design, teaches at Cornell University, and consults to the leaders of global companies across industries, helping them align organization to strategy.

Borge Obel has been a professor, researcher and teacher in organization design for several decades. He is the author of a number of books and papers on Organization Design including The science of organizational design: fit between structure and coordination, Journal of Organization Design2018. He is the founder of zeal.dk which advices firms on how to become sustainable and how to design an organization that supports a sustainable strategy.
